Advent Begins

Along with our daily Advent readings, in order to prepare for the coming of Jesus on Christmas day, the students at St. Jude will be participating in The Flame of Love movement. We are hoping to spread faith, hope, and charity by bringing the Flame of Love into our homes, neighbourhood, and community. This movement will involve the offering up of at least one small sacrifice each day in the hopes of saving a soul. These could include helping to prepare dinner rather than playing a video game, helping a younger sibling learn to tie his/her shoes instead of doing another (more enjoyable) activity, or simply skipping dessert or a sweet treat. It is in these small sacrifices that we complete in a quiet and humble manner that saves souls and pleases our Lord. As Catholic Christians, our mission is to put the needs of others before our own. We will strive to do this throughout the Advent Season. In addition, we will aim to live each day to the fullest, with joy for the Lord, while taking the events in our day (the good and the bad) without sadness or complaint. Our goal is to save 10 000 souls this Advent season. We will be reciting this powerful prayer each day, and we encourage you to do the same at home each night as a family. “Spread the effect of grace of Thy Flame of Love over all humanity.” May the Flame of Love be lit in all our hearts this Advent Season.
