Three Catholic Elementary Schools in London Temporarily Closed

The LDCSB has made the decision to temporarily close three elementary schools in London effective immediately due to the number of students and staff quarantininas a result of multiple likely and/or confirmed positive Omicron variant COVID-19 cases.

Since the cases affect staff in multiple different classrooms throughout the schools as part of their regular duties, this decision was made out of an abundance of caution to help ensure the health, safety and well-being of all students and staff at the schools

St. Marguerite, St. Nicholas and St. Mary Choir and Orchestra schools will be closed the rest of this week. During the temporary closures, students will continue their learning remotely. At the current time, it is anticipated that in-person classes will resume December 13.

Approximate number of students and staff at each school: St. Marguerite (600), St. Nicholas (450) and St. Mary Choir and Orchestra (250).

The Middlesex London Health Unit is investigating the cases and will provide advice and support to the school communities in navigating this situation

The LDCSB posts information about all confirmed active cases on our website at ldcsb.ca/covid/ (click the Status of LDCSB Schools link).
